Cool. Those pictures are awesome. I love the way the light reflects through the soft plastic on the Maxx’s torso. I do wish the Maxx had better articulation, though. Scud looks awesome, though I would have prefered the hip joints that were shown on the prototype. The weird ball-swivels look kind of awkward. Overall, though, these figures look great, and judging by the review I might actually buy the unpainted clear ones now.

Ummm Maxx is highly articulated from playing with mine which is why your comment confuses me. On my Maxx I count 24poa. Also my Scud looks like the proto on their site and I don’t think any other articulation could have been used for the hips. Again your comments seem out of place even though you want the figs!

Pinto, this is why everyone thinks that us Shocker fans are Cool-Aid drinkers. Nothingplace made only the mildest of criticisms and your jumping all over him.
Geoff is probably the coolest person I will ever meet, but that doesn’t mean that he can’t make mistakes or that his products aren’t perfect in everyway.
This isn’t the SHocker Forum. You can have an honest discussion here about what you like and dislike about the indie line.
I almost think that your a bias troll hiding as a REAL fan and are here to only cause trouble for the real fans who come here to get the legit info! Your just trying to make us all look bad!

He said “better” articulation, not “more.” More poa does not always equal “better” and in this case I agree. Yes, he has 24 points (I’ll take your word for it) but the one I saw wasn’t able to be posed in a lot of different ways. Just because you can put a fig’s knees behind his head doesn’t mean he has better articulation than a figure that can’t.
They are nice looking figures, mind you, but I still agree with everything Nothingplace said.

I think we could do with more pictures, of the figures. Fromw hat I have seen I still can’t wait to get my hands on them.
Regarding the origional prototype and the legs on SCUD, I a basic stance the old prototype looked more tight as you didnt see the joints as much.
here is a link to the first test shot
http://superarticulated.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/12/scud.jpg
But the origional SCUD prototype had limited articulation as you can see in the picture. it looked great but the legs hardly moved.
I recently bought the origioinal Kabuki figure and left it in the box as it was more of a statue with hardly any articulation, the Shocker Toys Kabuki looks awesome on the other hand.

Again, I don’t want to fight about anything, but my problem with the Maxx was mainly that he has swivel-jointed shoulders, which limits arm movement. Though balljoints would have been difficult with the lighter, softer plastic the torso is made from. The prototype Scud had more streamlined hip joints, and I would have prefered a hinged torso, like on the early prototype:

Again, none of this ruins the figures by any means, and the articulation is good nonetheless. I’m really looking forward to this line, and judging from this review these figures are a good start.

When are the regular ones gonna be released? I thought I heard early April. So what is the word on this? Have they dropped? If so, when will I see them on shelves?
2:09 am on April 5th, 2009
So what’s going on with Shocker? I posted messages on their site asking where the toys are, since they were supposed to have been shipped on March 31, and there was no mention of them arriving. The messages got deleted and I’ve been blocked from viewing the forum. What is this? Aren’t we allowed to ask a reasonable question like that?
I’ve placed an order with a retailer, expecting these by March like Shocker said. Now, after banning me they post news saying only those who pre-ordered though their site will get them, and some vague talk of more coming in the next few weeks or months.
What a crock. Unless I get an answer soon, I’m canceling my order and not even going to bother. This is pretty crappy customer service.
8:40 am on April 5th, 2009
From what I have read the postal service was delayed a few days and they are shipping this week, which retailer did you buy them from?
8:19 pm on April 5th, 2009
That doesn’t sound good. I don’t see why they would block you and delete your posts.
So they are only shipping the ones pre-ordered directly from the site?
Why would they do that? Wouldn’t that be an incredibly small number of orders…I mean they said on this site that there weren’t many pre-orders, why wouldn’t they be able to fill the pre-orders with the first shipment?
Does anyone have news on this? I see on this site and the official site that they are now saying they are shipping this week…but I thought they were shipped already? I’m confused…does anyone have the official scoop?

Still_Waiting, you had your posts deleted from what I heard because you went on a rampage through the ST forums. You didn’t contact them with concerns of an order nor did you present an order number. You are a troublemaker from what I see and are now here to stir up more trouble like you did on their forums. Also ST has only sold direct and to BBTS so if you have ordered anywhere else then that store is pulling your chain as the Diamond orders have been canceled. Again this is the same old song and dance like what happened with the Clear figures the trolls went around attacking Shocker saying they didn’t exist and then bam they showed up and shipped out to customers. Now they are starting again with IS1 well I have a pre-order in and I was notified so my advice to you still_waiting is to contact your store that pulled your legs and let em’ have it then get em’ through Shocker. Oh and by the way with a name like still_waiting and from what I saw on your ST member info before they removed you an email containing wheres the figures in it I think this is just an attack, but that is my opinion and they are like @$$holes everyone has one!
9:56 am on April 6th, 2009
Pinto, that seems a tad over the top – you may recall that Shocker Toys picked up replacement distributors after the problems with Diamond, such as Haven, who are offering the line for sale to stores. So it is possible for still_waiting to have ordered them through a shop. But more to the point, I saw the posts Still_waiting sent, and they were, I thought, polite and warranted. After all, Shocker Toys were listing the series as “shipping by March 31″, so asking several days later if they were on their way seems valid.
That aside, I’m really happy to see them being shipped – I hope they go well. I’m a tad confused about what happened to the shipment that left China in January, but either way it is good to know that they are coming out. Hopefully things will start to improve for the company.
10:35 am on April 6th, 2009
Pinto, to be fair, I don’t remember seeing any of the trollz saying the clear figs didn’t exist. I read them saying that they were gonna be the only thing Shocker Toys was going to make, and a lot of stuff about how Shocker Toys decided to make them an NYCC exclusive that you got in the mail, which is kind of weird, you have to admit. I’m not defending them, just saying what I saw.
Also, I read still_waiting’s posts and I didn’t see a “rampage.”
I don’t understand what all the controversy is about? Why can’t somebody official just answer his questions? Why the need to ban him and delete his accounts? Don’t you think that’s a bit of an over reaction? I do…but like you said, a$$holes.
10:40 am on April 6th, 2009
Also, Pinto, you should realize that Shocker Toys did say that they were shipping IS1 by early April, so I don’t see why somebody asking where they are, is a big deal. I mean, I asked in this web page once already as well.
I think you’re coming down hard on a fan, and finding witches where there are none.
10:47 am on April 6th, 2009
This guy is not a fan so if you are falling into this then I have less respect for you I am sorry to say that. This is how this starts on all other sites they come in pretend to be a fan and try and turn people. I for one can’t be turned I want to see what is to come. ST said they were shipping 1st week of April which I got an email saying so that is the answer they gave what more do they want? This guy didn’t even order with ST he has no right to come down on them like he did and I don’t know what you saw but it was an attack on the forums. Bottom line no reason to attack Shocker they said it was recieved and shipping and that is that and I got my confirm through email. if you want to talk trash don’t buy from them wait until someone has them in stock and get ot from them. I am getting tired of this crap and as a fan of the line I have every right to be! Not only that this is a topic about the exclusives why is this crap being brought up here!
11:31 am on April 6th, 2009
Sorry man, but I don’t care if you respect me or not, from what I have seen you are the one on this site that causes problems. This is the second person you have gone off on over nothing. Not only that but when somebody says something that even slightly critical of Shocker Toys you jump all over them!
Right now, I only see one person causing this forum to degenerate into trash talk and that is you.
11:44 am on April 6th, 2009
Yeah, Pinto! You’re not Geoff why are you acting like you are?! Who are you going around disrespecting other Shocker fans? What makes you qualified to say who is a real fan or not?
This is a fan site where we are all fans. Stop trying to create divisions between us, especially when this is the greatest time to be a Shocker fan with Indie Spotlight knocking at the door finally.
3:51 pm on April 6th, 2009
Again, I think everyone needs to stop fighting about everything. This just isn’t productive. Still_Waiting was a bit touchy, and his comments weren’t really relevant to the Nerd City reviews, but I can understand the frustration of waiting for what seems like forever for product and never having your questions answered. And Pinto, I’m sorry but you’re coming off as kind of paranoid. This website should be a welcoming environment, so I think we would appreciate it if you would give other people the benefit of the doubt.
8:43 pm on April 6th, 2009
meh! I just want good figures and a spot to talk about them without people biatching all the time!
11:09 pm on April 6th, 2009
So does everyone else.
3:28 pm on April 7th, 2009
YAY ok so let’s all discuss the toys and the fact that they are moments away from our hot little hands!
I’m ready to rip them open despite the nice packaging! Oh has anyone spoken to Shocker about the announcments on their sites?
10:33 am on April 8th, 2009
Yeah, when can we see stacks and stacks of them like the translucents?
Or better yet, how about one of you guys that got yours shipped to you on the 31st post pictures? C’mon! I mean this site has the most die-hard IS fans, surely one of you has pre-ordered from the sold out wave! Let’s see them!!
3:02 pm on April 8th, 2009
My preorder is through an online retailer so I won’t be getting the early ones. So please post pics everyone!
BTW, it makes me so mad that the trollers are still posting their BS lies over on CBR! Looks like Geoff has to go wild on them again to put them in there place again!
4:45 pm on April 8th, 2009
Can’t wait! I should be getting my full IS1 set in the mail soon, and Shocker even threw in a smokey Maxx figure! Judging from the nerd city review, that’s really a great deal.
And don’t let those guys bother you, drew. As long as they aren’t actually trolling right now, I say they can whine and complain on their own site all they want.
12:01 pm on April 9th, 2009
But they are trolling right now! Its everywhere mostly at CBR. Lots of people go there and find out about Shocker there. Millions of people read the thread talking about Geoff and Shocker and the scams! Its not good! I can’t even register there to slap down the naysayers.
Someone who can register there needs to put an end to it. Its the Rick Olney thread. Or Geoff needs to step in even though he is probably really busy and phone them and get them to do as he says again.
Look how the trashtalkers have stopped sales of the NYCC exclusives! Free Maxx given away?! How is that possible? They should be SOLD OUT but they have restricted the trade!
Sorry to yell here but I cant get on over there.
2:40 pm on April 9th, 2009
Trolling is just going to a website and randomly saying a bunch of controversial, irrelevant stuff for no reason. I don’t know if those guys have much to do with the NYCC exclusives, and I really don’t think they’re restricting trade. I think they’re just idiots who don’t know what they’re talking about. If CBR wants to let them trashtalk they’re allowed to do that, even if it’s obnoxious and unnecessary. There’s really no reason for either side to fight and make accusations. It’s just not helpful to anyone.
4:48 pm on April 10th, 2009
I would assume the sales of the NYCC exclusives slipped due to them being late and arriving around same time as painted versions. I heard it was a small pre-shipment and rest will have a paint twist to them.
