What is the projected release date for these?

But there won’t be any IS1 released in stores? WTF? How small was that shipment? Maybe if Shocker Toys produced a bigger run they could lower the price? I also don’t understand that in one article they say that sales slipped because of the trolls, but then they say they are sold out?

I mean if they sold out so quickly why can’t they get the second run to LCBS? I thought they were in production anyway? And even if they aren’t, doesn’t selling out of the first wave within a couple of days justify getting them into brick and mortar stores?

I find this all very confusing. I would like to buy these but now I am being told that I can’t because they sold too well? Is that correct?

And yeah, not really happy about my namesake having Shadow Hawk’s body…WTF?!

Maybe you should check the site and stop posting nonsense. Shocker said the second shipment is going to stores Amazon, TRU, LCS and more in June. They have two new distribs from what I read Haven Distrib and Distribitoys. They opted to get the figures here early for a number of fans and pay for shipping through air, what other company has done that?? Again WTF?! on your comments.

I read on this very site that IS1’s second wave may not be released because IS2’s release date is set for August and that is too close.

As it was just explained to you Mr. Gone, Scud1994, Pariah is that Shocker said they are shipping the second shipment and it will arrive in June. Nowhere did anyone say anything about Series2 affecting that. And a factory from what I understand (I could be wrong) can do multiple things at one time. Also for sales slipping I think that sales were stong in the start (When I placed my order) then people like you started trash talking and spreading lies and sales slowed. But when it hit and it was in people’s hands everything they had sold out. That is how I understand it happening. I think now that the product is out and in my hands as well no matter what crap you sling the product will still speak about how great it is to the masses. Most people do not even know about the drama you all caused as I had to really search to find it. So seems a little circle of jerkers has a problem with Shocker for coming through but what they don’t know is people are happy with the products and nothing can change that!

As it was just explained to you Mr. Gone, Scud1994, Pariah is that Shocker said they are shipping the second shipment and it will arrive in June. Nowhere did anyone say anything about Series2 affecting that.

    From this site:
“For those of us that didn’t get the complete set in wave one the second wave will be a welcome treat but with Indie spotlight series 2 getting closer it would be hard to say yet if series one will get a re release.”

    Pinto :
Also for sales slipping I think that sales were stong in the start (When I placed my order) then people like you started trash talking and spreading lies and sales slowed.

For the record: I did not come here trash talking. In fact, I came here as a fan of Scud, Maxx and Kabuki. I like Shocker’s Scud figure, not the other two, however. I am not a trash talker, I am simply not a kool-aid drinker like you. I have seen you be very nasty to anyone who does not absolutely fawn over the figures.
Don’t sit there and tell me who or what I am. I am here as a fan of Scud, but I am not a fan of Shocker Toys. If you want to make this about Shocker Toys I will be more than happy to debate you about that stuff in a neutral and public forum. Because you see, I came to Shocker as a GWAR fan and a block figure fan and ordered directly from them. I am now no longer even waiting on the refund. I know it won’t come.

So I will only buy a Scud figure when I can walk into a store and hold it in my hand. ‘Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.’
That isn’t trash talk. It’s how it is and YOU know that’s how it is. But I am still here, despite ALL OF THAT NASTINESS to talk about Scud figures and hopefully get one. I have NOT initiated one nasty bit of trash talk! I have asked legitimate questions and asked for clarifications…and the reaction has been favorable from everyone but YOU!

Do you want to chase away another potential customer?

I am here to get information on the wide release of IS1. I am here to talk about ways to improve IS2. I am here to find out exactly when and where I can own a Scud figure.

If you want to talk about the blame game, I will. But you know that Shocker Toys is far from innocent, so I don’t think you want to do that. Like I said, I am separating Geoff Beckett’s wrong doings from the Scud action figure. I would rather sort through the statements made and narrow down a time frame for when I can get my hands on a figure, than play a blame game.

So let’s figure out what is meant by the statement:
“For those of us that didn’t get the complete set in wave one the second wave will be a welcome treat but with Indie spotlight series 2 getting closer it would be hard to say yet if series one will get a re release.”

    okay?

Does everything at this site have to turn into a fight? I really couldn’t care less who’s fighting who. The ONLY problem with anyone’s comments on this thread is the nasty accusations. Both Pinto and Mr. Gone had something constructive to say, but you guys should really just drop the fighting. I’m sorry to be rude about it, but after going through this kind of thing on what seems like every other thread, I’m just really tired of it. That’s not what this site should be for.

It is how it is everywhere else as well. If someone was here to find out info they would ask instead of including all the drama. And I am no saint in that either so for that I do apologize! I think this guy Geoff or whomever it is running the show took it upon themselves to take the heat for everything so people would still buy the toys even after all the crap they seem to have went through. If it were me I would have said done, done and done but he didn’t which I have to respect but do not understand. Now everyone hates him and everywhere I see they call him a douchebag, scumbag, lier, con artist and everything else they can throw at him. I think if a company said hey we can’t fund our projects or we lost a factory people wouldn’t trust them either so I guess either way this company was doomed to be stoned by the on-lookers!

  14. Mr. Gone
    11:59 pm on April 27th, 2009

I DID just ask. That’s what set Pinto off in the first place! I dared to ask a question instead fawning all over the place about how glorious everything is that comes from Shocker Toys.
You know what? I don’t like 100% of ANY company’s products..who does? And saying so, DOES NOT make me a troll! It’s this sort of behavior that drives people away from Shocker Toys and creates enemies! Don’t you see that, Geoff?

    I wrote:
“I find this all very confusing. I would like to buy these but now I am being told that I can’t because they sold too well? Is that correct?”

That is a question and nothing more. I didn’t flame or get nasty at any part of that. I asked legitimate (I thought) questions. I didn’t name call or flame…but was told that I am a hater and a troll and a blah blah blah.

And yes it is very old.

All I want to know is when and where I can get a Scud figure. Geoff says they are available in stores now on Rob Schrab’s site, here I read not until September, and maybe not at all.

Please tell me the proper way to get an answer, because just saying “What is going on? WTF?” is apparently giving Geoff fits.

Series1 as a second shipment as you have been told more then one time here are on the way to Shocker in June. If you can’t wait for the SCUD pre-order one to make sure you get it when it comes in. Seriously what is your problem Pariah? You can easily go back to that CBR site where even there I see the tide changing. We have the figures we like them and nothing they can do can change it. If you are a fan of Scud and have seen the many reviews online you wouldn’t be taking potshots at Geoff of Shocker you would say how you heard it was a great figure and you are excited about getting it and you have pre-ordered it. Do I hear that? NO because you are full of it as you were over at Schrab’s site. Yes I have seen what you started over there as well Mr. #1 Scud fan. Toy sell out like Merman did and then a second wave comes in to re-fill thats what I see happening.

No it isn’t. How can you hear my tone in writing? I stated quite clearly already. I am ignoring the personal BS I have had with you, and Shocker Toys for my interest in the Scud figure. Which, since you are reading my old posts you can see I congratulated you on producing.

    Pinto :
How is anything giving Geoff fits? I don’t see him going crazy on you.

    Oh really? Come off it.

    Pinto :
Again if you need proper info goto http://www.shockertoys.com to make sure that is what I do or ask the webmaster of this site outright.

And by posting a question on the webmaster’s site about conflicting reports in his news how have I not asked him outright?

I showed, quite clearly that there have been conflicting reports stated here. I didn’t throw out any accusations, nor flames…unlike you.
I simply asked for clarification. Give it a rest, man.

    Pinto :
Series1 as a second shipment as you have been told more then one time here are on the way to Shocker in June.

That’s well and good, but it says here and on the Shocker Forums that they are also coming in September. Then it also says here, maybe not at all.

I simply am asking why there is confusion and where the info is coming from. This site is called Indie Spotlight “NEWS” is it not? Can I not ask a NEWS site why they have conflicting information?

    Pinto :
If you can’t wait for the SCUD pre-order one to make sure you get it when it comes in.

You don’t want to go there, Geoff.

    Pinto :
Seriously what is your problem Pariah?

Simple. I asked a simple, non offensive question and I am now under attack…once again. This is the sort of thing that gave me a bad taste in my mouth about you and your company in the beginning. I am trying to let bygones be bygones, to support the Scud action figure.

    Pinto :
You can easily go back to that CBR site where even there I see the tide changing. We have the figures we like them and nothing they can do can change it.

What you don’t seem to understand is that for the majority of posters there, the tide never shifted. 75% of them were, like me, potential customers that you berated for simply asking questions or being unsatisfied with some bad practices. Sure you don’t have business training and have made some bad mistakes, ethics isn’t inherent knowledge. But you compounded your errors by refusing to admit them and threatening those who complained. From a person perspective the money lost was minor, and the threats toward me were hollow and empty, so I am in favor of moving on. I eagerly await a day when I can enter Toys R Us and buy a Scud figure.

However, if you go down the same path with me as you did before I will have no choice but to do the same. After all, it doesn’t cost me anything to walk away from your products forever. But on the other side of the coin, you won’t just lose my business on a single Scud figure, you lose the business of somebody who is a major indie comics fan, and possibly the biggest Tick fan there is.

So why continue to draw this out? Why not just take a deep breath and talk to me without posturing?

    Pinto :
If you are a fan of Scud and have seen the many reviews online you wouldn’t be taking potshots at Geoff of Shocker you would say how you heard it was a great figure and you are excited about getting it and you have pre-ordered it.

Why the insistence on pre-ordering it? No thank you. If I were a fan of Scud, which I am. I would say, “I can’t wait to buy this figure. I heard it will be available in stores but the date that it will arrive has changed a few times and I am confused as to why. I also read on this very site that it may not happen at all. Why not?”

Which is what I did say. I would not give a testimonial to a figure that I have not held, no matter what some other reviewer (that I have never heard of) says.

    Pinto :
Do I hear that? NO because you are full of it as you were over at Schrab’s site. Yes I have seen what you started over there as well Mr. #1 Scud fan. Toy sell out like Merman did and then a second wave comes in to re-fill thats what I see happening.

You saw what I wrote over there, but you know I didn’t start anything. Like I said, you know that you banned me from your forums because I said I knew your toys were not sitting in a container back in December. And they weren’t. But you couldn’t let that be either, you had to threaten me.

But like I said, this isn’t about you, and it isn’t about my personal feeling of you. It’s about your toys. I congratulated you and I have returned to ATTEMPT to be a customer of yours.

If you don’t want me to be, then just say so…but the game is old.

I really, truly, seriously just want to know why this site as had different release dates for the second wave. That’s all I asked in the first place, and that’s all I’m asking now.

I hadn’t heard that the second shipment has been moved to September, but the second series is planned for a September release, last I heard. Maybe you’re mixing the two up. Shocker’s online store has Scud on preorder for June:

“Get the 6 inch SCUD action figure in from Indie Spotlight Series1 (comes with extra hands, accessories and Isz) This item is (Sold Out) you can pre-order for the second shipment due in June.”

And please don’t bite, even if someone bites first.

IS1 is definitely getting a re-release, from everything I’ve seen and heard. According to Geoff:

“Indie Spotlight is out and is selling very well (almost sold out) on a 1st run order that wasn’t a small one. The second order is very large and will cover Amazon, TRU, the local comic shops and more.”

So I would say there’s a good chance of getting any of the figures from one of those sources.

I’m pleased to hear about the second run. However, it seems Haven has removed the line from their online catalog – hopefully this is just a temporary glitch while they adjust the release date (as they had the old one, not the new June release), and won’t affect the distribution plans.

I thought Haven had new customers on consignment? Like they will only order product after it is ordered by the retailer, and only pay after the item is delivered. If so, they may have removed it because they didn’t get any orders.

The catalog just went to press and will arrive in stores over the
    course of May.

Your listing just disappeared yesterday because I have all advance
orders that go past their expected street date automatically pulled.
I just re-added the toys to the cart. They will show back up this
    evening.

So let your local shops know to keep an eye out for us in the catalog and the listings are still good on the Haven site and will be also featured in their catalog. Let’s get IS1 into as many LCS as you can by showing your support and passing on the info to your local comic shops.

Dude, he said Geoff said the second shipment of Indie Spotlight series 1 was large! The 1st shipment was smaller but not tiny as some make it out to be. I heard BBTS got 75 or more cases so I would Imagine Shocker would get even more 1st tme around. All the problems involved in this line has caused alot of changed info and the hate-on-Geoff people are using it as a derail campaign against them. There are only a couple of people who will hate IS1 no matter what. The rest of the people who get labeled as “trolls” are only people like me who have been treated poorly, by you. Oh sorry, we’re still pretending that Pinto isn’t Geoff. I meant, they are people who were treated poorly by Geoff.

Shocker had a lot of problems with Indie Spotlight 1 and they have a bad track record leading up to it. Those things are facts, they are not made up stories. Add to them, the fact that Geoff stated many times leading up to the release that the figures were already made, and just waiting for this or that reason to ship, when clearly that was not true, and you get a company that has unsatisfied customers.

And then when the President of said company send them nasty emails, bans them for complaining rather than answering their questions and spews out legal threats…you should expect some backlash.

The bottom line is that Shocker Toys treats its potential customers very poorly. As I stated before, I found Shocker Toys as a customer and I was treated like dirt and threatened. That’s not what a good company does, and those that speak out against it, or retaliate are not “trolls” they are people who are pissed off. Only a very very few people want to Geoff to fail. The rest of us, just want an apology.

Yea why do you feel the need to come here and point out all the faults of Geoff Beckett? Who cares! He took one for the team so you little babies could cry about him all over the net. Do you really need to post 3 or more times at once that is troll behavior. Where are the emails, the ban info and the threats? Who cares? If someone said you were a piece of monkey shite would you freak out? If someone says the Indie Spotlight toys are great you label them cool-aid drinkers or Shock puppets. You can’t let anyone speak well about the toys without bringing up Geoff or things he has done. GIVE IT A REST! The toys have spoken for themselves and you are unhappy that they are well beyond all your small minded expectations.

Also as far as customers go they seem to have good customer service as far as I see. Oh wait did you want good Troll service? Geoff should pucker up as the Trolls bend over and kiss their arses? I don’t think he is going to do that and until you all wake up and realize that you are all on cloud-9!

  33. Mr. Gone
    2:18 pm on May 3rd, 2009

You started this discussion, Geoff. Even after it was settled and we had moved on to figuring it out, YOU brought it back to nastiness. YOU DID THAT. You see, that’s why I decided to put my feelings for you aside and TRY to become a customer again…but it’s very difficult. You go bat shit at the drop of a hat.

I mean, you’re here berating and name calling a person who wants to buy one of your figures…and why? Because I don’t want to buy them all? Or because I want to wait until I can buy them in the store?

What question have I asked here that deserves to be called the names you have thrown at me?

Like I said, I really don’t think you don’t want to get into this, you don’t want me to post those emails, you don’t want to stir my ire again. Why can’t you just chill out, answer my questions in a civil manner, or let someone else do it?

But if you really want to have a debate, then lets do it at a neutral website where you can’t delete my posts, or your own. Why not? I mean I have all the nasty emails full of swears that you sent to me. It’s easy to go to Unscrewed and find the saved posts where you were saying these toys were on their way to the USA 4 months ago.

Wouldn’t you rather just chill out, and answer my questions in a nice way? After all, other people were able to do it. You’d think the president of the company could do it too.

  34. Mr. Gone
    2:51 pm on May 3rd, 2009

2nd post in a row! OMG only Pinto is allowed to do this without being a troll. But for you Geoff, I thought I would post exactly what I wrote at CBR about this.

    ——————————————————————-
I’m having a ton of fun over there at IS1. (For Geoff: that is sarcasm buddy).

I decided to give Shocker Toys a second chance…not Geoff, but Shocker Toys. I figured, hey I like the look of that Scud toy. If I can get it at Toys R Us or a LCBS and it looks like a decent fig I want to buy it.

So I have asked some pertinent questions over there. These are legit questions that I think any customer would have…because I am a potential customer, after all!

And Geoff has gone bug fuck crazy over there. I have had to read my replies very carefully before going on (and somehow I still make typos  ) because it’s really not my intention to rile him up. Somebody needs to take his keyboard away. How many times does he have to create a new handle before he realizes that it doesn’t disguise him? It makes you wonder if this is how he treats his employees…I mean generally customers are treated better than employees!

That huge thread has gone on and on simply because I asked for clarification on why the date for the second release was listed as September, June and maybe not at all.

Seriously, to answer this question all one had to do was say something along the lines of, “Well we first anticipated a June release, but with IS2 so close to that time we thought it better to hold it back, or maybe not release it at all in the foreseeable future. One reason would be because manufacturing that much product would be expensive, and two- flooding the market with 2 waves of our toys might make demand go down.”

Doesn’t have to be exactly that, because I don’t know the reason…which is why I asked in the first place. And as you can see, other people DID chime in and try to give some explanations about the mix up. They were cordial and polite…but Pinto/Geoff just goes bonkers and starts up with ‘trolls’ this and ‘trolls’ that and name calling and all the rest.

It’s so hard to maintain an interest in this figure when getting information from the company is like getting spit on.
    ——————————————————————

Pinto, I really honestly truly think that if you take a deep breath, reread my questions in this thread, and take time to think about what I am saying in that copied text above and elsewhere in this thread. You can see that I am here because I want to buy something from you.

By acting the way you are, you driving potential customers to those who want to see you fail. I don’t give a crap about you, or your company…that means for good or for bad. All I am interested in is some plastic figures that will sit on my desk for awhile before I give them to my nephews.

What do you expect to happen when you threaten legal action against people like me? Or when you send nasty emails? Or when you call us names because we don’t like one of your figures? How about when make promises you can’t keep?

You can’t shove people and expect them to not shove back. You can’t open up work to feedback and then threaten people with facetious legal action when they say, “Dick Tracy looks like a female.”

80% of the people who have a problem with Shocker Toys were potential customers. I know, I am one, and I have spoken to them. The only way you’re going to get people to want to be your customers again is to treat them like they deserve to be treated…like the people that can make or break your business because that is exactly what they are. If you want to complain about them, do it at a bar with your friends. Not to our faces. You have alienated your customer base and all because you want to give the appearance that you are bigger than you are.

Nobody expects perfection. They only expect you to meet the promises you make, and admit when you fail. There’s no shame in that.

So before you finish reading, remember to take a deep breath, get a cup of tea, and relax in a hot tub and think about what I said before you hit reply.

This is the last time I will say anything to help you. If you can’t take it as help and choose to spit at me again…I’ll simply walk away. That’s all, I’ll just walk away. I mean, it doesn’t cost me anything to walk and tell more people how Shocker Toys treated me, you on the other hand lose potential sales.

Thanks for listening. The ball is in your court.

    @Nothingplace
Are you making up a quote from GEoff? Cuz Geoff has said before that the first shipment was a small one. I thought that was why i couldn’t get them anyhwere I looked! Now you are pretending like he is saying it was a big shipment. So why can’t I get mine from the store I ordered?
Nothingplace, your just like Pinto, always thinking your Geoff but your not such a big shot! You shouldn’t make things up like what Geoff didn’t say!
Waiting for my set in June/Can’t wait!

Uh, what? That was an actual quote. I’m not sure what you’re talking about.

Whatever may be said now, the first release was said to be a small release by Geoff. I’m not saying anything Nothingplace said is incorrect, in fact that is exactly the sort of confusion I have been seeing lately. It’s exactly what I am here trying to figure out. It was initially stated the the first shipment was a small one mainly for the pre-order folks. Maybe there were a few more than that, but the photos showed a small run, and statements from Shocker Toys indicated it was a small run.

If that is being retconned now, I would be interesting in knowing why, and if it will affect the second wave.
I am looking forward to going to TRU in June and buying a Scud fig.

Now I’m so confused. So I should have been able to have these alraedy? If lots were made why are they so hard to find? I’ve been to TRU and comic shops and the shop I ordered form but nobody knows what I’m talking about. It makes me look so stupid to ask about Indie Spotlight and they pretend they have never heard of it!

I wish everyone could calm down, I can understand where everyone is coming from. I didnt like the delays but there is nothing anyone could do, just about every thing in production is subject delays and ST is am indie company makign indie toy.

They have been released and everyone who has owned the figures loves them from what I have seen.

Lets just keep focus on the toys.

I would love to. If you look, every question I have asked has been about the toys. I’m not here to fight with Geoff. Look at my last couple of posts. They are calm, and I am trying to help the guy keep my business…and how to keep the business of those like me.

My focus is on the toys. But when you say “they have been released” you are incorrect. From Shocker Toys’ own previous statements, this initial release was only a small release just for the pre-orders and a few more.
Now it seems that it changing, rumors were dropped about the second wave being delayed, or not coming at all. I asked about it and Geoff went bonkers (I mean it’s all right in this thread.) I didn’t make any of this up to stir up trouble!

Now we’re being told that the first wave WAS a large release. And I am asking, if that is what we are to believe, does that affect the second release? I would think with the president of Shocker Toys posting here it would be a simple matter to answer my questions.

Will there be a second wave, and if so, when? (June from what I understand…tho not from Pinto) And a question of lesser importance would be to whomever wrote on this site that the second wave may not come at all. What made you say that? Was it just a regrettable statement that meant nothing, or was it based on some rumors?

Others have chimed to politely answer those questions, but Pinto/Geoff ha done nothing but spit at me and fly off the handle. There’s only been one troll in this thread.

Well everyone has a right to speak their mind. You are here for answers and I am here because I love the product.

If you need serious answers and they are burning you up inside go to their site and email them direct. That is what I do with NECA, Mezco, SOTA and a few other toy companies who take the time to respond. I can also understand the confusion about all of this but honestly step back and look at this from outside the bubble. People say things like it was on a sinking boat, robbed by pirates, Diamond canceled due to comic shop scams, the products are not here because the people showing them are mailing the same figure back and fourth. If you saw all that you would be confused too.

Not only that but if Diamond did really screw them over that bad do you think they are giving stores the truth when they call? Comic Shop Owner” Hi can I order the Indie Spotlight from you?” Diamond’s replies” We have never heard of it”, “It is sold out, sorry”, “Psssss hey I wouldn’t order those they are no good”. Now local comic shops have a bad taste in their mouth due to all the crap floating around on the tubes. Well if you can’t get it at your local shop and they give you a hard time why give them your business? You can support a company better by ordering direct, that is what I do. Eventually they will realize; hey this stuff is in demand and I need to get some for my customers. I have walked into many shops to order something only to get a crabby owner who doesn’t give two bits about the customer as if he can do what he wants and still make money. With that type of attitude you will only lose money. As for Geoff that goes for him to and I agree the customer is king!

With that said I would like to apologize to Mr. Gone for my outbursts and continue on a sane discussion about Indie Spotlight and how we can help get it into our local stores.

Sorry, but from past experience I won’t buy these until I can hold it in my hand. I want to see what I am buying before I buy it. I know from experience that refunds and exchanges are not handled too well…but again, it’s not something I want to get into here, so please stop trying to get me to order online or pre-order, thank you. Aside from that BBTS isn’t exactly on top of what is in stock and what isn’t. They are still taking orders on the GWAR toys and Who Wants to be a Superhero. Why should I assume they have these? Sorry, no. No pre-orders, no online orders. I have a bad history with Shocker Toys and I would like to overcome it…but once bitten, twice shy.

The topic is the second shipment that is coming in June. Why can’t we talk about that?

And none of this was a complaint…simply a question about when they would drop at TRU and why this site was implying they may not drop at all. That’s it, simply asking for a clarification as to why whomever writes the rumors on here said the second shipment may not come because of IS2.
No complaint, I am just waiting until June…but I was curious about the strange reports that pre-order sales were low, but then they were sold out, and the second shipment may not come at all…blah blah blah…I have posted and re-posted this stuff several times. You can go look at it. They were easy questions, not attacks, not whining, not complaining.

Simply asked a question and I got nuked. Perhaps therein lies the sales problem, no?

I already placed my order with CSC! Now I’m just supposed to do a new order? Not all of us are super rich and have our own credit cards. I don’t wan tto borrow it again.

It’s like no one here really knows anything but they all pretend to. They pretend they are Geoff or pretend others are Geoff. It confuses me. I just wanted to be sure I could get the figures in June like it was said it would be. Who knows now! How come noone from Shocker will come here and set this all straight? Not just more boardies but a real person that works for the company.

Yes, I agree. Some straight and firm dates would go a long way. I mean June is only a month away. Is it June 1st? 31st? 15th? It would be nice to know.
